Watching Manny Pacquiao to step the ladder of greatest heights is just amazing. He started off his debut I believe at 107 lbs and went up to 147 lbs and beat every weight category with 7 world title champions. Last night, November 14, 2009 was a big fight for Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao against the welter weight champion Miguel Cotto. It was a great fight and they both put on a really great show worth seeing. I applaud the corner of Miguel Cotto for the sportamanship and professionalism he showed as well as endurance and tenacity for fighting up to 12 rounds of professional boxing. But it was Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao who steals the show and showed what a great fighter and boxer he is.
Before stardom, what many didn't know Manny Pacquiao comes from a very humble beginnings. He used to be living on the streets and struggled financially against the battle of everyday life. Not anymore, when he was given the chance to fight against Lehlo Ledwaba as a substitute back in 2001; he proved to the world that he is special and a fighter in his heart and stayed as it is up to this day and even exceeded the expectations of many. Manny Pacquiao is a true fighter with a lot of courage and a heart that goes beyond his well being. He loves to help people in his country (Philippines) especially the people who were affected by the typhoon and other catastrophic events.
Manny Pacquiao fights for his country, his family and all the Filipinos all over the world and he was very honored to represent the Philippines in the world of boxing and the whole world as a whole. The only filipino as well as a boxer that garnered 7 world titles in different weight category. Now this is history not in the making, but a history that will be put in the likes of Muhammad Ali and other great fighters in history and that's why he was featured in the "TIME Magazine". Manny Pacquiao is the first Filipino boxer to grace the Time Magazine cover and the first boxer in the world to be given the honor since Mike Tyson 20 years ago.
Manny Pacquiao is getting even more stronger than ever before. It seemed that every fight he is getting stronger and coming back stronger at the last rounds. It's not everyday you see a fighter like this and that's what defines a true and great fighter. He has the heart, courage and attitude to win the game for his country and his family. He has fought with boxers who were bigger than him. You see the irony? Moreover Manny Pacquiao is a great family man and father to his 4 children. What a great pride and honor to represent his country and fellowmen.
People are raving for the next fight between Manny Pacquaio and Mayweather. This will be the fight of the decade and in this century. It's too early to tell who's gonna win because they're both great fighters. It all comes down to who has more power and speed as well strength to weather what people say as the fight of the century. It will be the epic of their careers as a boxer and the defining moment to who is the greatest fighter ever. Many believe Mayweather will beat Manny Pacquiao but like I said we will see who's gonna win. It's hard to put this fight altogether because they have to negotiate the talks and it's not easy but people are rooting and expecting the fight to be the fight of the century if it happens in 2010 next year.
